Coordination of railway projects with Sweden

The Norwegian Railway Authority Jernbanedirektoratet, together with the Swedish Transport Administration Trafikverket, has produced four reports on the current status and future of cross-border rail transport between Norway and Sweden. The aim of the collaboration is to develop joint forecasts for cross-border rail transport and to provide an overview of current and planned infrastructure measures. The reports cover the Värmlandsbanan – Kongsvingerbanen, Vänerbanan – Østfoldbanen, Mittbanan – Merakerbanen and Malmbanan – Ofotbanen lines. Discrepancies in the two countries' forecasts have been identified, which is why better coordination is being sought.
