Contract signed for double-track expansion of Skradnik – Krasica – Tijani line

Croatian infrastructure manager HZ Infrastruktura has signed a contract worth €3 million for the preparation of a preliminary design for the double-track expansion of the 72 km Skradnik – Krasica – Tijani line. The contract was signed with a consortium of Granova, ZPD, BBD-Bridge & Building Design and Geotehnicki Studio, and includes preparatory work such as geodetic and geotechnical surveys, the preparation of preliminary design documents, studies, and the acquisition of the location permit. The consortium will submit its design development project within the next 15 months. The construction of the new double-track line will eliminate bottlenecks, enable integrated and interoperable transport along the Rijeka – Zagreb – Budapest line and reduce travel times. The project will be co-financed by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) with 85% of the costs, €4.9 million, with the remaining part covered from the state budget.
