Construction volume for railway and LRT projects to reach EUR 67 billion by 2025

According to a report by Spectis, the investment volume for ongoing and planned railway and light rail transit (LRT) projects has risen to EUR 67 billion (PLN 283 billion) for 2025. Of this, EUR 7.8 billion is accounted for by projects under construction, while around EUR 59 billion is still in the planning or tendering stage. Six provinces account for 75% of all projects. An analysis of 120 construction companies shows Budimex to be the market leader with a double-digit market share. The five largest construction companies held a market share of just under 40% in 2024. The market remains strongly influenced by infrastructure operator PKP PLK and, increasingly, by the project developer CPK of the central airport as investors.
