CN invests €2.2 billion in railway network

Canadian National Railway (CN) has announced an investment programme of around €2.2 billion (CA$3.4 billion) for infrastructure measures and capacity expansions in its North American railway network for 2025. Of this, €1.8 billion is earmarked for infrastructure projects and maintenance work, including the replacement of over 360 km of track and around eight capacity-oriented projects in western Canada, which are to be completed by the end of 2025. The rest of the plan includes investments of over €318 million in the expansion and modernisation of CN's fleet. In 2024, the railway company invested around €2.2 billion in infrastructure expansion.
