Moldovan state railway CFM, in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and DB Engineering & Consulting (E&C), discussed the current situation in rail transport and challenges in terms of mobility. The need for comprehensive reforms in the railway sector and the importance of technical assistance and feasibility studies were emphasised. The aim of the cooperation is to modernise lines in order to increase travel speed and create a safe, efficient and sustainable rail network. On 17th May 2024, the CFM also took part in a meeting with the State Secretaries of Romania and Ukraine, an EU and US delegation. At this meeting, possibilities for developing the railway infrastructure and facilitating cross-border rail freight transport were discussed.
