Cambridge Connect seeks funding for light rail network in Cambridge

Cambridge Connect has applied to the UK government for €5.87 million to fund a feasibility study for a Light Rail Transit (LRT) network in Cambridge. The private company Cambridge Connect is campaigning for the construction of an LRT network in Cambridge to connect the city centre to universities, science parks and residential areas. A spokesperson confirmed the application to the British Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. If the decision is favourable, the first LRT line could go into operation before 2030.
