Cadence submits bid for HFR project

The Cadence consortium has submitted its bid for the Canadian high-frequency railway (HFR) project. The project aims to improve rail connections between cities such as Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto. The Cadence consortium comprises the companies CDPQ Infra, AtkinsRéalis, Keolis, Systra, Air Canada, and French state railway SNCF. Vehicles on the HFR network are expected to reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. Cadence plans to address the project's connectivity and population mobility challenges while considering the impact on the community. The consortium has also expressed its commitment to Canada's environmental goals. The Canadian government is expected to announce the preferred partner by the end of 2024.
