On 6th March 2026, Budimex signed a contract with Polish infrastructure operator PKP PLK for the design and construction of a further section of the Podleze – Piekielko line. The contract covers the construction of the new double-track line No. 622 on the Podleze – Gdów section and the construction of the single-track connecting line No. 627 between Podleze and Podleze-Balachówka. In addition, connection work will be carried out on the existing network, including lines 91 and 95. The contract value is over EUR 584 million (PLN 2.5 billion), and the execution period is specified as 38 months from the signing of the contract. Budimex is implementing the project in a consortium with Ferrovial Construction and Budimex Kolejnictwo. The scope of services also includes a tunnel approximately 900 m long, 51 new switches, eight platforms and engineering structures comprising 17 railway bridges, six road bridges, 11 railway overpasses and five road overpasses. In addition, two underpasses, 24 culverts and 18 retaining structures are planned.
