Ivan Bednarik, former CEO of CD Cargo, CD and most recently Director General of Slovak infrastructure operator ZSR, has been nominated as Czech Transport Minister by the new coalition government. The nomination was submitted to President Petr Pavel by ANO leader and Prime Minister-designate Andrej Babis on 26th November 2025. Bednarik, who is not affiliated with any party, is the candidate of the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) movement, which is set to take over the ministry and has announced that it will fill ministerial posts with experts. In connection with his nomination, Bednarik announced his resignation from the top of ZSR at the end of November 2025.
