The Norwegian Ministry of Transport has commissioned the Directorate of Railways to carry out a feasibility study on how to improve rail transport services between the Norwegian capital Oslo and Gothenburg in Sweden. The study is being carried out in cooperation with the Swedish transport agency Trafikverket, and will examine both passenger and freight transport. The Swedish state railway SJ has announced that from 11th December 2022 it will increase the Stockholm – Oslo passenger rail service to five trains per direction on weekdays.
