Infrastructure manager Adif is to reorganise its management structure, reducing the number of general directorates from nine to six. This restructuring aims to reduce management positions and optimise the organisational framework. The new structure will take effect after the appointment of the general directors through public selection processes. Three of the new general directorates will focus on corporate areas such as finance, human resources (HR), and strategy, while the other three will focus on railway operations and customer service. The Planning and Construction directorate will lead new railway projects, the Operations and Exploitation directorate will manage the transport and maintenance of the 15,000 km railway network, and the Business and Clients directorate will take care of commercial affairs and the development of logistics platforms.
