Adif invests €238.4 million in the maintenance of railway power supply

The Spanish infrastructure manager Adif has awarded contracts worth €238.4 million for preventive and corrective maintenance and ancillary work on electrical installations on the conventional railway network. The contracted services cover 9,200 km of overhead lines and 341 electrical substations over a period of 36 months in six geographical areas. A joint venture (JV) comprising Electren, Elecnor Servicios y Proyectos, and Syneox Rail will carry out the work in the Central, North-East, and North areas; a JV comprising Telephones Lines and Centrals and Syneox Rail is responsible for the North-West area; and a JV comprising Montajes Eléctricos Vinaelectric and Lantania for the South network area. A JV comprising Lantania, Ispalvia, Construcciones Installation y Tracción, and Guinovart is responsible for the East area. The contract covers preventive and corrective maintenance as well as rapid intervention, including troubleshooting and component repairs, material supplies and improvements to the electrical installations. Adif has its own specialised teams and resources for the maintenance and repair of the electrical installations.
