Adif awards maintenance contract for safety systems

Spanish infrastructure operator Adif has awarded a €100 million contract for the maintenance of safety systems on the railway network. The contract will run for 36 months and will support Adif's internal teams in maintaining safety equipment, particularly in areas with high system density. The aim is to minimise disruptions and reduce downtime. The contract includes preventive and corrective maintenance as well as investment work to improve operating conditions. The contractor may also be responsible for providing the necessary materials. Systems covered include interlocking systems, train control systems, signals and switches. The contract is divided into six regional lots tailored to local infrastructure characteristics. This investment is part of a broader modernisation programme supported by national and EU funds to ensure the operational safety and integrity of Spain's railway networks.
