Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif AV has awarded JWS Steel Italy Piombino and Arcelormittal España a framework contract for the supply and transportation of rails. The framework agreement is worth €134 million and runs for 24 months. The rails of various types are to be used primarily for the construction of the Mediterranean corridor, the Murcia – Almería high-speed rail (HSR) line, the Murcia – Cartagena link (Torre Pacheco – Cartagena section), the double-track expansion of the Antequera – Granada HSR line, and the Olmedo – Zamora section of the Madrid – Galicia HSR line.
