The Spanish network operators Adif and Adif AV will have completed investments totalling €24.1 billion by the end of the 2022-2026 budget period. More than half of this will be allocated to the conventional network, rail freight transport (SGV), and suburban rail transport. Around half of the investments were realised by the end of 2024. In 2025 and 2026, Adif will continue to invest in the renewal of the conventional network and stations, and Adif AV will invest a further €12 billion in the high-speed network (HSR network). The infrastructure managers' investments will be concentrated almost exclusively on the Atlantic and Mediterranean corridors. Adif and Adif AV want to maintain the current price level until 2026 in order to promote the liberalisation process in rail transport.
