Above-ground terminus decided for planned rail link to Melbourne Airport

Melbourne Airport and the Victorian State Government have agreed to build an overground terminus for the airport's rail link to the city centre. The decision follows a recommendation by an independent mediator after the government and the airport operator had previously disagreed on the type of station. The opening of the €8.1 billion (AU$13 billion) link has been postponed until 2033 due to government funding cuts.
